An IOP is a structured substance use treatment program that meets several times a week while you continue living at home. Ours runs Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, 5:30 PM to 8:45 PM, so working adults can attend without leaving their job or family.

IOP is where most people start: three evenings a week, the full program. OP is where you step down as you stabilize: one evening, keeping the work going. This is treatment with an endpoint, we don't hold onto you.

A small group, three evenings a week, working through what is actually happening in your life with people doing the same.
One to one time with your counselor, where you say the things you would not say in a group.

You map your own triggers and write down what you will do instead, before the night you need it.
Practical ways to handle stress, cravings and conflict that you can use the same evening you learn them.

Anxiety, depression and trauma are treated alongside the substance use, not left until afterwards.
Help with the practical weight around treatment: benefits, paperwork, appointments, referrals.

Co-occurring treatment is part of the Substance Use Services program. The IOP and OP treat substance use disorder with mental health support as a secondary component.

Erik is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) with extensive experience in substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment. He specializes in outpatient (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services.
As Director of Substance Use Services at Advanced Behavioral Care Services, Erik oversees clinical operations, staff leadership, program development, regulatory compliance, and community partnerships. Prior to joining the organization, he held leadership roles overseeing behavioral health and substance use treatment programs across New Jersey.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to evidence-based care, Erik is dedicated to expanding access to quality treatment while fostering a supportive, professional environment for both clients and staff.

We provide referral and linkage to external Suboxone and Methadone clinics. We do not dispense these medications on-site, and we offer no injectable medication programs, nothing is dispensed or administered at our facility, in either division.
The program was built so it won't. IOP meets three evenings a week from 5:30 to 8:45 PM, and OP meets one evening. You keep your daytime schedule.
